MS Project 2016 not saving custom field.

Is anyone aware of an issue with MS Project 2016 where a custom field is not being saved?

The field is a flag one and is displayed as an image. If the value of the field is changed and the file is saved, when the file is re-opened the value has been brought back to its original value before the change. It works as expected in MS Project 2013.

    Thank you for your message.

    I am afraid that the online repair, uninstall and re-install have not made any difference. The issue can be replicated when a new test file is created.

    Please see the version number below.

    Could you advise further please?

    Thanks for confirming the information.

    We would like to know, have you tried online repair? If the issue persists after the online repair, please use the easy fix tool in this reference article to do a completely unintall and reinstall to see the result. This can let us know whether the issue is related to the Office client itself after its own upgrading from 2013 to 2016.

    In the meantime, if the issue persists even after the reinstall, can you provide us more information below:

    1.       Please go to file > Account > Product Information and provide us the screenshot. To protect your privacy, please help us mask your email address.

    2.       If you create a new test project file, does the issue happen?

    Thank you for your message.

    The issue occurred when Project was upgraded from 2013 to 2016 and Windows from 8.1 and 10. The same behavior occurs in both Windows 8.1 and 10. If the file is edited in Project 2016 and saved and re-opened with Project 2013 the changes have been saved. However, if it is re-opened with Project 2016, they are not. This has been tested on a completely newly built system. There a couple of other users having the same issue. Could you advise further please?

    Hi Stanislava,

    Thanks for providing us the video and the sample file.

    Based on the test by our side, with the same version 1811 (11029.20079), we can’t reproduce the issue with the sample file you provided. At least, it seems the issue is not related to the file itself. In the meantime, that means the issue may not be related to the Project app version because it can’t be reproduced in the same version.

    To further investigate, please tell us the information below:

    1.       When did the issue first occurred? Was there anything changed? For example, anything installed or updated?

    2.       To check whether the issue is related to this specific computer environment, is it convenient for you to try on another computer to see the result?

    In the meantime, to check whether the issue is related to the app itself, please check whether

    run Office online repair can fix the issue.
