Hi. I have exactly the same problem.
For examplee, I have a background graphic that has transparency setting 80%. When saving as PDF document, the background looks grey instead of white.

Thank you for letting us know that the issue is resolved. For everyone else, you can update your MacOS to the latest version which is 10.14.4 to get the fix:

Thanks! All transparency exports tested and work well in PowerPoint, but not in WORD. Only single color / non gradient transparency exports work. Try creating a gradient transparency over an image in WORD and export file as PDF, image still flattens to a solid.
Perhaps on the next round of fixes?

NOW THE BUG IS CORRECTED
Mojave 10.14.4 update yesterday 8th April works well, at least with Power Point for Mac version 6.25 (early access program)
