A family of Microsoft relational database management systems designed for ease of use.
I just started experiencing this issue with a client who recently switched from their Windows 7 computers (where all was completely stable) to Windows 10. Finding this thread was such a relief (I originally ruled it out since the first post was June 2018, so I assumed all would have been fixed by then).
Is the Microsoft suggestion (applying the registry fix to the server) the better option or to the individual client's? I don't want to have to deal with lost network drives, if that is a possibility, which seemed to be the case for many of the posters above. (And I don't even know that their IT guys will allow that change on the server).
