AUTOCORRECT-ONENOTE: FOR GODS SAKE PROVIDE AN OPTION TO TURN IT OFF!!

Why, why was OneNote released without an option to turn autocorrect off?! This problem is now old enough, how was this not fixed? You essentially made OneNote completely useless, since it auto-"corrects" everything you want to type into something wrong. Why was this option removed from the new Versions of OneNote? How does it come that its not fixed by now?

    If you are the adventurous type you can try:

    Add the wanted feature to Autocorrect in OneNote 2016. It will land in MSO10xx.ACL (xx depending on your language) in

    C:\Users<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office

    Use it to overwrite the corresponding file (after saving it) for OneNote for Windows 10 in 

    C:\Users<user>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Office.OneNote_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\AppData\Roaming\Office

    So I use OneNote for Windows 10 at work (looks like Version 16001.13801.20534.0) and I have encountered this same issue. I try to type POs and it is inevitably changed to Pos, including with the red squiggly underlining. I don't know how to disable autocorrect BUT I did just discover that a quick Ctrl + Z reverts it back to POs as intended. As far as workarounds go, this one is minimally cumbersome, though still less than ideal. Hopefully this helps with whatever you're trying to type as well.

    Still unresolved. I'm writing notes about some code and one of the variables is lower case i . Except I can't write it because it gets auto corrected to I every time.

    To sum it up:

    This actually solves the problem with a (little annoying) workaround!

    Load Office 2016 -> go to Auto Correction exceptions -> delete all the exceptions one by one (watch some youtube meanwhile this could take 5 minutes) -> then get the file to where Bernd P. says

    OneNote 2010 now isnt autocorr anymore!

    NICE but still - shame on Microsoft........

    Hi toph95,

    Have you tried disabling it manually in the OneNote app options? If not, click on File > Options > Proofing > under When Correcting Spelling in OneNote > unchecked the box for Check spelling as you type and Check grammar with spelling options. We suggest that you also check these links for more suggestions to disable other AutoCorrect options:

    Add, edit, or turn off automatic corrections

    Choose AutoCorrect options for capitalization, spelling, and symbols
