I have been using Microsoft Word for iPad to write and edit documents for a while now and it has been working well. I have some custom fonts installed on my iPad, and those have been working great with Word as well. Until iOS 11. After I updated my iPad to iOS 11, I got an error message every time I opened a file that relied on my user-installed fonts: “There is insufficient memory or disk space. Word cannot display the requested font.”. And the file closes and/or stays open but doesn’t display my fonts. Is this a known issue? Anyone experiencing this? I’m hopeful that this will be addressed in the first post iOS 11 update for Word, but I haven’t seen anything about it online.

Another Office for IOS update overnight but yet again no fix for this issue. Please, please, please fix this problem

I managed to get all of my custom fonts to work with Word on my iPad by converting the OTF’s athttps://onlinefontconverter.com/ to TTF‘s. Then install as you normal would with AnyFont, iFont or what so ever.
I‘ve tried decompiling the .ipa of Word to get its included „office-compatible“ fonts to see wether they differ from „normal“ desktop fonts in version, identification, metrics, dimensions, encoding, unicode, other specific settings or with the kerning? I couldn‘t tell.
I suppose it‘s getting just a little embarrassing for Microsoft not to be able to fix this issue many users — wether typography enthusiats or employees at companies with custom fonts — complaint about within one year of knowing.
