User fonts not working in Word for iPad after iOS 11

I have been using Microsoft Word for iPad to write and edit documents for a while now and it has been working well. I have some custom fonts installed on my iPad, and those have been working great with Word as well. Until iOS 11. After I updated my iPad to iOS 11, I got an error message every time I opened a file that relied on my user-installed fonts: “There is insufficient memory or disk space. Word cannot display the requested font.”. And the file closes and/or stays open but doesn’t display my fonts. Is this a known issue? Anyone experiencing this?  I’m hopeful that this will be addressed in the first post iOS 11 update for Word, but I haven’t seen anything about it online.

    Thanks for this but point remains that prior to IOS 11, OTF fonts did work in IOS versions of word, powerpoint and excel and now they don't (but do in Pages etc).  Would be great if Microsoft could address ASAP as self-evidently this has impacted a lot of users.

    Was having exactly the same issue.

    Since it was imperative for to make this working, I could not simply wait until Microsoft solves the issue.

    What I have figured out is that MS office applications (word, powerpoint) freak out only if there are user fonts in non-TTF (TrueType font) format.

    After I converted all fonts that I need into TTF word and powerpoint came alive. 

    Good luck! Hope this will help someone. 

    I can confirm this worked for me. (Word for iOS, Stone Type Foundry TTF versions of originally OTF fonts.)

    Hi Ran Gao,

    Do you have ANY update on this issue?

    It's been almost six month. 

    I cannot edit nor open any doc file with custom fonts installed.

    This is very annoying, to say the least: what are the plan of the iOS team?

    Can you tell if they are working on the issue or not?

    Do we have to start using Pages ?
