I ran into the issue again this morning when I tried to close a file, in Word, that had been created some time ago. It did not occur when I closed another file that I had looked at last night and that had been created more recently. I am trying to explore the previously suggested idea that this glitch affects files that were created before one of the recent updates. In any case, the workaround, x-ing out the dialogue box, seemed to work just fine. It is only frustrating that Microsoft does not seem to have any sense of urgency with these kinds of frustrations.

I have Office 365 and this happens only when I close any file in Excel. I do not have this with Word files.

Yeah, I am puzzled by the long times it takes to solve simple issues (introduced by Office updates!).

Same thing happened some time ago with the lag issue when writing mails in Outlook. It took ages to be solved. And that was more than annoying, it made Outlook useless for many users since it took you ages to compose a short email.

    Regards,

    Marco

I am also nervous about not syncing, especially when the current work-around is as simple as "x-ing out" the box. However, I agree that it is frustrating that Microsoft is slow to respond. I have had two updates since the problem started. I sent feedback through Word tonight, but I am not confident that the team will read and respond.

Thanks. However, does this mean that files are no longer synced?

If that's the case, it might solve this issue but it's not a real solution if you need files to be synced, is it? While this issue is very annoying, since it is not harmful personally I prefer to continue having my Office files synced with all my PCs and the cloud.

Microsoft should really provide a solution very soon!

    Thank you,

    Marco
