stdole32.tlb in Excel Windows 10

I received the Win 10 Fall Creator's Update on my desktop a few weeks ago and encountered this problem with Office 2007 (plus the corresponding one where Word keeps trying to reinstall every time I open a .docx).  I've been putting off troubleshooting it.  But now I just installed a brand new Win 10 laptop and everything was working fine with Office 2007.  Then I got the Fall Creator's Update and now the laptop is doing the same thing.  I will try the "uninstalling updates" method, (but Win 10 will likely just reinstall the updates and it'll break again) or I'll try a clean remove and reinstall with Revo Uninstaller (I've been using that for years; it's a good tool for an IT person).  I hope one of those things works.  Option 2 is likely better, but what a giant pain in the rear for a suite that I just spent so much time configuring.

Regardless, it goes beyond Microsoft not supporting many of their older products now.  I firmly believe they're intentionally sabotaging the older programs in order to force people to upgrade.  The same thing mysteriously happened with IE 11 when MS really started to push Edge like a year ago - IE 11 will now very frequently crash or not play videos, etc., even on sites that it used to work fine with before and whose content hasn't changed.

Same issue as ShadBauer. Installed the Win 10 update 2 days ago and started seeing this problem on all Office 2007 products after years with no issues. Also no success with registry fixes and renaming setup.exe  

Update: I removed recent Win 10 and Office Pro 2007 updates (dated 12/21/2017), rebooted (which loaded new updates dated today 12/28/2017), and the problem is fixed.

Procedure:

1. WinLogo + R and in the Open: box type > appwiz.cpl 
2. click OK opens the Program and Features window
3. click "View installed updates" link on the top right
4. Navigate to the group "Microsoft Office Professional 2007" I had 51 updates there dated 12/21/2017. I uninstalled 3 updates from the top of the list that started with "Update ..." (not "Security Update ..."). Method: right-click an update, select Uninstall from the popup menu (the only option), accept all prompts from subsequent popup windows.
5. Navigate to the group "Microsoft Windows" I had 5 updates there dated 12/21/2017. Using the same procedure as above, I uninstalled 3 updates that would allow it (2 of 5 did not present a popup uninstall window when I right-clicked)
6. reboot Windows

With regard to 4) above I have 56 updates but these are in a group "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007" so not sure which 3 updates to uninstall from that group as there are 7 or more listed. 

With regard to 5) there are 5 updates so perhaps if I uninstall 3 it might work?  If I just do this what is the worst that could happen as I'm not too confident when it comes to this.

This is the 2nd time I've had window 10  fall update and as I encountered the same problems 1st time around I went back to recovery for the previous version and it all worked fine. Trouble is it will attempt to download windows 10 fall at some later date and I'll be back to square one. 

I also use LibreOffice and that is having problems when I try to open it so may have to bite the bullet and buy office 2016. Hmm

I used the following process after having no success with the above solutions.

1 Uninstall Office 2007 using uninstalling tool provided by Microsoft

I followed the Procedure described by PaulDiGoss. So uninstalled the updates (except the security updates). This solved the stdole32.tlb problem on my laptop. Its a week ago now and it still works fine!
