'Helvetica neue light' font stopped displaying correctly

'Helvetica neue light' font stopped displaying correctly in outlook for mac and word for mac V16.9. It was working fine previously. I have tried validating the font and file with Font Book. It works ok in Excel. Can you suggest a solution?

The Insider Fast version of Microsoft Word released yesterday, 16.13 build 180409, RESTORES POSTSCRIPT TYPE 1 FONTS TO THE FONT MENU. @Sky Pei @Jim Gordon MVP

The few I've tried are working normally in newly created documents, and documents that would not open with correct fonts in any version since Word 15.41 do open correctly in this one.

The long wait has been aggravating, but many thanks to the developers at Microsoft for persisting and apparently getting this under control (or at least being on the way to doing so; the Berkeley font family problem that I reported separately remains).

@Nislander, 16.12 did not restore the Postscript fonts when I tried it in the Insider version. / Rich

I don't know if maybe this is a clue as to what may have gone wrong, but my Helv Neue fonts are in a folder of their own within the Microsoft fonts folder, whereas all other fonts are loose.

@Sky, what's so aggravating about this is that your engineers took something that was working in 15.41 and broke it, and we're now stuck helping you to beta test a live production release.

I'll repeat a possible clue I think I posted earlier: 16.9 fixes a font problem that exists in 15.41, in which not all weights of a family can be accessed. In my case, in the ITC Berkeley Oldstyle family, I can access Book, Book Italic, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic, but not Medium. If I choose Medium I get Book, even though Medium is listed in the font menu. This is fixed in 16.9, so maybe if you look at the fix for that font issue you'll find what broke Gotham and apparently (for other users) other third-party fonts. Or maybe not. Just a thought.

I'll also repeat that all my fonts work normally in all my other non-Microsoft applications.

I haven't seen any response at all to the new query about Gotham that you asked me to start, by the way.
