I've been using Excel 2016/Office 365 and just recently, I started getting this message: "The file 'name of file' may have been changed by another user since you last saved it. In that case, what do you want to do? Save a copy. Overwrite changes."

I'm the only one working in my file. It is stored on the OneDrive for Business, which is the company supported.

How do I keep this message from appearing?  Or WHY is this message appearing?  

I saw a similar post for Excel 2013, but no help was actually given.

We've contacted the related team and would like to share the latest updates here:

For Consumer products (e.g. Home,Personal,University), the issue should has been fixed in Office version 8229.2103.

For Enterprise products (e.g. Business Premium, Enterprise), the issue will be fixed very soon in few days, the expected Office version number is 8201.2140.

    I was told by support engineers this is an internal issue and the issue will simply go away when the internal issue is resolved.

    Did not solve the problem.

    Office 365 Version 1706 (Build 8229.2086 Click-to-Run)

    The issue seems to be fixed for me with the introduction of autosave feature (which also placed an auto-save on/off toggle on the Quick Access toolbar)

    I have installed OneDrive 17.3.6944.0627 and Excel 8229.2086 and it doesn't fix the problem.  The message still appear when I save excel file for the second time.
