"The file 'name of file' may have been changed by another user since you last saved it. In that case, what do you want to do? Save a copy. Overwrite changes."

I've been using Excel 2016/Office 365 and just recently, I started getting this message: "The file 'name of file' may have been changed by another user since you last saved it. In that case, what do you want to do? Save a copy. Overwrite changes."

I'm the only one working in my file. It is stored on the OneDrive for Business, which is the company supported.

How do I keep this message from appearing?  Or WHY is this message appearing?

I saw a similar post for Excel 2013, but no help was actually given.

For Enterprise products (e.g. Business Premium, Enterprise), the issue will be fixed very soon in few days, the expected Office version number is 8201.2140.

Thanks,

So family member started report the same issue on their computer recently with Office 365 and OneDrive. The excel file they were working with is saved in the OneDrive folder. Every time they hit save after making a change that was 60 seconds or greater they would get the error. They have been using excel file and OneDrive for a few years this way with no prior issue until recently. So while troubleshooting I noticed a new or newer feature of the OneDrive sync tool. By turning off this feature of the OneDrive sync tool the error has stopped occurring.

I am also having this problem. I've spoken to a technician who ran a program and it seemed to work. Until I got off the phone with her. :-(

Please include me in the investigation.

Do you need any files from me?

    Thanks,

    Shannon
