@All,
Please first refer to Hflores_77's reply on this thread and try to see if it works:
Excel 2016 Save Issues.
If it doesn't, for those who haven't, please confirm that the version of your OneDrive client is (6917.0607) and this all happens locally when you save an excel file in the local synced folder, not cloud OneDrive/OneDrive for Business/Excel Online

Update to previous reply:
I take back my previous suggestion.
It became unstable once again, all of the sudden for no apparent reason. So, back to square one.
And I don't quite understand his suggestions anyway - do I need to sign out of OneDrive? How do I do that? It only has the option to unlink PC/stop syncing or pause syncing. I don't see a point in second-guessing a solution that hasn't worked for the original
poster.
I'm on OneDrive Personal and Business, running in a single client Version 2016 (build 17.3.6941.0614). I get this message when saving Excel files that sync to either location. I always open local files and save them locally. Excel version is 1706 (Build
8229.2073 Click-to-Run).
The registry hack didn't help.
