Cursor disappears (only) over the italic texts (on PC)

The problem occurs under any front and any zoom I am using. 

I just updated Office 365 to the latest version (1701) before posting this question and the problem still remains

    Hello Microsoft (Stefan Blom) and Microsoft Community,

    Is there a solution for this cursor issue using the built-in Intel HD Graphics 520? I have a Microsoft Surface Book and when I look under Device Manager > Display Adapters I see listings for the Intel HD Graphics 520 and the NVIDIA GeForce GPU. 

    Since this issue appears to affect Microsoft hardware using Microsoft software, one might assume Microsoft would be able to replicate the issue and figure out a solution. This thread appears to have stopped without a solution from Microsoft. 

    Has anyone suffering from the issue solved the problem or has the issue resolved itself as the issue appears to be intermittent?

    Comments or solutions regarding the disappearing cursor issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Wilford...

    I certainly haven't solved it. I just grit my teeth and repeat the litany against fear every time I have to highlight anything which is in italics. I haven't seen any response from Microsoft, and I'm not aware of anyone who has.

    If anyone has a solution to this, or even a workaround, I would love to hear it!

    I'm going to ask a question to the Office team and (hopefully) find out if they have more information on this issue. I'll post back with any information that I receive.

    Thank you for the insight into who participates in the forum from Microsoft, and I appreciate you reaching out to the Office team to inquire about a solution. Any information would be helpful whether there is a solution or not. If there is a solution to this issue that would be awesome.
