Same problem. Any fix for this?
Cursor disappears (only) over the italic texts (on PC)

The problem occurs under any front and any zoom I am using.
I just updated Office 365 to the latest version (1701) before posting this question and the problem still remains

The behavior described in this thread certainly isn't anything that can be observed on all systems running Word 2016.

Simultaneous video driver issues on two very different machines? I doubt it. This isn't the first time this bug has cropped up in Word. It happened in 2007 and again a few years ago...

If both computers are from the same manufacturer, their drivers aren't necessarily that different (even though one computer is a desktop and the other one is a laptop).
When you observed the problem previously, what was the same and what was different compared to the situation now? That will give you the required clues to fixing this.
