Spell Check not working in Word 365 after automatic update

I cannot get spell check to check my document.  Word no longer highlights potential issues, and when I run the spellcheck, even when I KNOW there are misspelled words, spell check completes without prompting me for any problematic words or phrases.  (the update also wiped out all of my macros, for the second time this week!)  

I have checked the proofing options, and everything appears to be as I want it.

    I'd suggest trying to repair the installation and see if that corrects it for you.

    Please go to one of the words that you know is misspelled.

    Click in it.

    Then press Shift+F1.

    A pane about Reveal formatting should pop up.

    In that pane, does it say "Do not check spelling or grammar" under Language?

    If so,

    Press Ctrl+A

    Under the Review Tab

    Language

    Proofing Language

    Uncheck the box for "Do not check"

    That box must be clear.

    Then press OK.

    It is possible that the "do not check" setting is contained in styles. If so, please write back.

    This issue is suddenly happening to me.  Win 10, O365.  Not an issue on Word until today.  Unfortunately the solution didn't work.  English is selected as the language and the do not spellcheck box is clear.  Any suggestions?

    Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, it did not solve my case (spell-checker in MS Word/Office 365/Win 10 stopped working this month).
