Spell Check not working in Word 365 after automatic update

I cannot get spell check to check my document.  Word no longer highlights potential issues, and when I run the spellcheck, even when I KNOW there are misspelled words, spell check completes without prompting me for any problematic words or phrases.  (the update also wiped out all of my macros, for the second time this week!)  

I have checked the proofing options, and everything appears to be as I want it.

    Hello Stefan,

    No, no spellcheck (manual or otherwise) works. To quote Michael above, "Word no longer highlights potential issues, and when I run the spellcheck, even when I KNOW there are misspelled words, spell check completes without prompting me for any problematic words…".

    I verified that "Do not check spelling or grammar" under Language is unchecked (I always do), with the same results.

    This feature is crucial to my work, so I'll be very grateful if you have any more suggestions.

    Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, it did not solve my case (spell-checker in MS Word/Office 365/Win 10 stopped working this month).

    If you have any other ideas, I'm all ears!

    Are you saying that manual spellcheck (F7) fails but that spellchecking as you type is working properly?

    This issue is suddenly happening to me.  Win 10, O365.  Not an issue on Word until today.  Unfortunately the solution didn't work.  English is selected as the language and the do not spellcheck box is clear.  Any suggestions?
