When I transfered a large Word 2010 Doc to my new computer (into Word 2016) from the cloud, 1500 words disappeared. Nobody could figure out why or which words were missing.
Now that same file (Word 2016) has spontaneously added 10 pages (it went from 469 to 479 pages), but there are no blank pages and the page format and word count haven't changed. Can anyone tell me what could have happened?

It appears that this thread is not going to reach a resolution except an agreement to disagree, so I am locking it.
Since nobody can explain it, and one of the MS techs said other people have had this problem, I respectfully disagree.
There is NO such bug in the software.
I'm not the only one with this problem. It's clearly a bug in the software. There's no need for me to turn over confidential papers to strangers for "investigation" of an issue that's not unique to me.
If you're not going to make the documents available so that the issue can be investigated, you will just have to accept the situation. No one can help you without having access to the documents,
