Word App not uploading to Dropbox

I am currently having some issues between dropbox and the Word app on my iPad. I will be typing in a document in the Word app and suddenly get an error message saying the app has saved my changes but can't upload them to Dropbox. When I check, the WiFi signal is strong and there is no obvious connection problem. In the directory the file shows "Upload Pending" under it and has an exclaimation point with a triangle around it. This happens multiple times daily, and happens to files in multiple folders. I have to save the file again with a new file name each time it happens because it won't over-write or delete the old file. Once the new file is saved, the old file never syncs and shows no yellow triange or green check icon. If I try to delete the old file I get an error message saying that the file cannot be deleted now and to try again later.  I have tried deleting and re-installing both apps multiple times and restarting device to no avail. I checked Dropbox trouble shooting and they said it was a Microsoft problem, not their end. I use these programs to take, save, and organize my class notes so getting this fixed is vital with exams coming up...thanks for your help.

    This is not/can not be a Dropbox issue. Microsoft talks to Dropbox via its API. Dropbox's API has not updated since last year. The Dropbox app itself needs not be installed on the device for excel/word to access it. This is simply Microsoft screwing up how it talks to the API and neglecting to fix it because they have a competing platform .

    Im having the same problem ongoing with Excel saving to Dropbox on my iPhone 8.

    If I create a new excel file, when I initially save it, it uploads to Dropbox fine. Any subsequent attempt to save the file reaults in an error. Extremly frustrating this hasnt been resolved... need this sorted asap or need to find alternatives.

    Have tried reinstalling all apps & resetting. 

    iOS 11.2.6

    Excel 2.11.1

    Drobox 90.2.2

    Having this issue with MS Word, less with Excel. I am thinking of switching to Apple products, Pages etc. For the moment I am working around by saving to my iPad then editing and then uploading the final version to DropBox. It’s tedious but works. If an app won’t talk to DropBox that’s a problem.

    Version 2.12 - Still f***ing trash

    How is this even possible? It has been 3 months and 6 updates without a fix. This is absolutely absurd.

    Called in to Microsoft to attempt to get real results. 

    I was transferred twice, told to please hold and was hung up on during my hold...
