Touchpad scroll not working with Excel 2010

Good day all,

I have an Acer Aspire ES 15 running 64bit Windows 10 and Office 2010 Professional.

I've just built this machine from new and the only application or situation where 2 fingered scrolling on the touchpad doesn't work is Excel 2010.

Following some online advice I ran a fix which didn't fix it.

I also uninstalled Office 2010. That's when I found out Office 365 was pre-installed. I uninstalled that as well. I have now performed a fresh install of Office 2010 and still have the same problem with Excel 2010 only.

Btw, this is happening for all excel files whether they have freeze panes or not.

Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated.

    Exact same issue.

    Windows 10 Version 1709, Build 16299.192

    Office 2010 Version 14.0.7015.1000

    while posting this message, I just got an update from Microsoft for the Touchpad driver

    (see below)

    It did not fix the Excel 2010 scroll problem but improved nevertheless other things:

    Now Google Maps (e.g. in Chrome) now zooms in and out smoothly (was not the case before...

    instead it zoomed in bulky steps)

    ->great improvement

    For the Excel problem I think Microsoft has to fix it in the Excel app and roll out an update.

    Would be great to see that Excel update benefits from the smooth scrolling as we see this improvement

    in other areas of Windows apps.

    (on a side note: upgrading to Excel 2016 is not an option for me at this point - Excel 2010 (Office 2010)

    is much nicer to work with - I would say the best Office ever released so far)

    thanks for Microsoft for their effort to make Excel 2010 touchpad (smooth) scroll happen :-)

    my versions:

    Windows 10, 1709, Build 16299.192

    Excel 2010 14.0.7192.500, SP2 MSO 14.0.7192.5000

    The problem came with Creators upgrade - before it all worked fine.

    At the same time the "send to eMail" was broken too, but later fixed

    with additional upgrades.

    But the touchpad scroll problem still remains in all Excel Dialog

    (not only the Spreadsheet - it's broken everywhere in Excel - even file open/save dialog)

    Seems like a low-level handler for Tochpad Scroll in excel is broken.

    There was definitely a change in the behavior of the Windows Touchpad because

    other apps (such as Windows start dialog, Windows Explorer, etc) are now better than before

    (smooth scrolling) - definitely an improvement.

    But this improvement in the touchpad driver seems not to be working with Excel 2010.

    Solution is to update Excel in order to comply with the updated Touchpad driver that Microsoft rolled out.

    Don't roll back to the old touchpad driver because I think the story goes into the right direction.

    Smooth scrolling should be working everywhere - even if this means to update some apps like Excel.
