Error Code: 0xE0000007 in OneNote

I have one section of one notebook in OneNote that keeps coming up with Couldn't Sync and showing the Error Code: 0xE0000007. I have gone through all the steps shown online:

Open the OneNote online, then open the Notebook section and use 'Open in OneNote' to open it on my desktop. Then try to sync - failed

Copy (not Move) all of the notes in the affected section to a newly minted section, delete the original section and sync the new one - failed

So I tried making some minor changes in the section, re-synced, got the 'Couldn't Sync' error, but when I check back online all of the changes I made have synced. Why am I getting this error?

Are there any updates on this OneNote Mac issue?  I'm still running 15.37 without any sync errors.

Even if the sync errors on 15.38 are false positives, they're constantly present.  I work in IT and seeing errors or sync errors almost always indicates a problem, so the presence of them don't give me confidence that my notes are sync'ing properly.

According to the Insider Fast build notes for OneNote Version: 15.39 (170919), 15.39 probably won't fix this issue:

No fixes, known issues, or new features this week.

That is VERY disappointing!  Makes me think that MS is not taking this seriously.

Hey Microsoft!  Whats going on with this REAL issue???

Is it not a priority because it only affects a relatively small number of customers?

Has it really been escalated to the next level?

Please pay attention to this issue, please.....

Microsoft is testing a fix in the pre-beta open testing program called Insider Fast. Anyone who wants to test the fix is welcome to join the program if they obtained OneNote from an install of Microsoft Office. Insider Fast is not available to those who install OneNote from the Apple App store.

To join the program, go to the OneNote Help menu and choose check for updates. In AutoUpdate app click the box to join the Insider program, and then click the pop-up to choose Insider Fast.

Insider Fast builds are pre-beta. They may have new features you haven't seen. They may have existing features that are broken or under repair. They come frequently, and are large downloads. You should not use them other than for testing purposes.
