Cannot print from Publisher

I can no longer get publisher to print to any printer, including a physical printer (HPLaserJet) or to a file, i.e. a PDF.  It tries to connect for about 30 seconds and then once connected the print button remains greyed out.  All other MS Office programs work fine.  Any ideas?

    I have also been able to save the file as JPEG and print but it's not a fix for publisher that was working well before Microsoft killed it for us with the last update.

    Please fix this issue. I don't expect support to continue forever for older software but I do expect that Microsoft should be responsible for fixing issues caused by their updates which are meant to keep or PC's running better not kill them.

    Yes I agree. Went to Microsoft shop in Sydney today and surprise surprise they hadn’t heard of anyone having a problem with printing after last update!! He was sure it would be the fault of the printer!! However when he looked at Publisher 2007 it was OH THAT’S YOUR PROBLEM THAT VERSION IS NOT SUPPORTED ANYMORE...

    I had this problem and solved it by unchecking "Use XPS enhanced print path when available" under Publisher Options>Advanced>Print.

    Are you using publisher 2007?  

    I can not find "publisher options" or "options>advanced>print" in 2007 - they are however available in 2010 & was touted as a "new functionality" for 2010.

    If you have located this option in 2007 please can you clarify exactly how to access it, thankyou

    I had this problem and solved it by unchecking "Use XPS enhanced print path when available" under Publisher Options>Advanced>Print. 

    Thank you for this solution however I cannot find how to do this in Publisher 2007.  Is this a feature of newer versions?  Again we need to establish a fix for publisher 2007 after the latest Microsoft update.

    If anyone knows how to complete this task in 2007 please let us know and I'll try it.
