I can no longer get publisher to print to any printer, including a physical printer (HPLaserJet) or to a file, i.e. a PDF. It tries to connect for about 30 seconds and then once connected the print button remains greyed out. All other MS Office programs work fine. Any ideas?

I don't currently have this problem, but not due to anything I did, it simply started working again. Sorry I don't have a solution for you.
Was there a fix found for this? I am having this exact issue with the latest windows update, (but am using publisher 2007)
Have had issues with printer not working after windows updates in the past, but cant find a fix this time. :/

Still have the problem. MS Publisher won't print to any printer including "Adobe PDF", "Microsoft print to PDF", etc. It also will not save a document in any format. All other MS Office products work just fine. Publisher and Windows 10 are up to date. I can do any thing I want in Publisher except get output in any form, print or saved, through any physical or software printer.
