OneNote - All Notebooks Suddenly Empty

My world heavily linked into this application and nine notebooks were suddenly emptied off all their content - right in front of my eyes. All I did was start it up, and was about to type when it all just went away and I got this message:

"There are no sections open in this notebook or section group

Click here to create a new section**"**

Now I did go to backup - but it's not restoring my notebooks the way they were.

These books are also located in OneDrive, but I can't bring them in.

I would like to know why this happened.

It appears that Microsoft OneNote is unstable and nobody has any real answers.

This concerns Office 2010.

Can someone please help.

Hi everyone - some update.

I believe this issue was resolved last Friday, 08/19. Please check Denise's answer here, and let us know if it is fixed with your latest update. To get the update immediately, open OneNote and click File> Account > Update Options > Update Now.

Looks like Microsoft fix the Problem?!!! 2 Days no Problems. No empty Notebooks.

It's been a while now since I was able to resolve the problem which hasn't reoccurred. What I'm responding to is that MS support you mentioned. I (still) have an issue with my Outlook for which I foolishly attempted to go to Microsoft for a resolution. What I've come to realize about Microsoft, is that they'll take your money, but not want anything else to do with you. So they have this setup with so called "partners" who are independent individuals posing as actual Microsoft personnel. This one guy who I found out is in India led me into believing he was going to resolve this "very simple" resolution - up until he told me it was going ot cost $186. This was after I agreed to allow him access to my computer remotely. Although I didn't go for it, I was more angry at myself for being scammed. I always prided my self for being somewhat savvy, but come to realize they're doing it with Microsoft's consent.

Mine seems to be fine now also for the last few days. It seemed to disappear before windows updates were installed yesterday. Fingers crossed it stays 'fixed'!

All of the sudden those issues seem gone, I don't know if MS changed anything but now I can no longer reproduce the issues like I was able to do until a few days ago.

What about the rest of you?
