OneNote making my text invisible!

I imagine this is some sort of bug...

OneNote in Office 365 on Windows 10 

I use OneNote for a lot of notes, including one section that is password protected. All of a sudden a few days ago, it has this very annoying glitch where the text I type is invisible.

It basically allows me to type / click check boxes, etc., but it is all invisible. As in, it creates space for the words but there is nothing there. I mostly have been using the password protected section, so I notice it there. If I close OneNote and open it back up, the previously invisible words then show up. Sometimes it lets me type regularly again, or sometimes it just makes any new text I type invisible also. 

If I press backspace, for example, the cursor moves backwards but the deleted words are still visible (until I close the program, for example).

If I switch to a non-password protected section the words are usually invisible while typing also- but if I keep typing gibberish then after a few seconds, this seems to reset and do the same thing as closing / reopening the program.

Any ideas? This is quite annoying!

Hello,

This issue is also occurring for me. I will type text and the cursor will move as if it is typing but the text does not appear. A short-term solution I have found is that switching to another section and then switching back to the "trouble" section then displays the text when typing.

I have tried both Quick and Full Repair.

The version is Office 365 Home Edition OneNote 2016 desktop app on Windows 10.

    It happens on all my sheets, and none of them are password protected. Usually after starting to use OneNote after it's been in the background for some time.

    Because pro-active feedback of Microsoft is as usual not being provided, following are my actual findings:

    Up to yesterday, I still could duplicate the problem on Office version 16.0.8067.2115 while it hasn't been possible for the last 5 days on a dual boot configuration with same Windows 10 (15063.332 then 413) but Office version 16.0.8067.2157.

    Meanwhile both dual boot installations are on the latest officially released Office version 16.0.8201.2102 and the problem didn't re-appear (so far).

    I recently updated to Windows OneNote 16.0.8201.2102 (running the latest Windows 10), and seem to have a NEW bug that I have not noticed before.  When OneNote is minimized, and I click on the taskbar to bring it up, the entire "note" field is blank!  I can still see the program header, the tabs across the top, and the pages down the left -- but the contents of the note page are blank.  If I click on another tab, and then back to the tab that I was originally on, all of the text in the page becomes visible again.

    I would suggest it's possible that they may have fixed one bug and introduced another with this latest build -- based on what I am seeing.  It's happened twice to me so far today, and I have not (yet) noticed any invisible text as I type.

    As before, I am having absolutely ZERO other problems on this machine, with other Office apps or any other apps.

    Randy,

    Sad, that you are still experiencing issues with OneNote. I have seen the same malfunction you described 2-3 times only a couple of weeks ago still on the old Office 2016 version.

    In addition, I had a similar behaviour in Outlook 2016, where suddenly a mail folder was shown empty. If I clicked a different folder and then back the original one, all mails have been displayed again as expected.

    Both, the OneNote and Outlook issue, so far did not show up again on my computer since I upgraded to version 16.0.8067.2157 and meanwhile to version 16.0.8201.2102. However, the later version is just available for one week, so I would not confirm that all mentioned strange "display issues" are fixed.
