SURPRISE! The layout of my one note has changed from just having tabs across the top

to taking up 1/3 of my screen showing some navigation pane.

THIS IS SUCH A WASTE OF SPACE! Everything is so small now on my screen I can't read my notes!!! I am so frustrated after looking and looking though every menu and preference on the entire software, I can't tell how to switch it back. I must have done it some how because on another account it looks like it the old style. Please SOMEONE HELP!!!!

First, we'd like to thank you for using OneNote!    As you’ve noticed, we have made some recent design updates and we’ve done this for a couple of reasons.

We've refined the experience in OneNote based on feedback from existing customers who have asked for a more consistent navigation model for organizing their notebooks, sections, and pages across devices.  In addition, these changes represent our aim to create products with “Inclusive Design” in mind, enabling customers who rely on accessibility tools, such as a Screen Reader, to access their notes all from one place.

We encourage you to try the new navigation and let us know  what you like, what you don't like, and where we might improve. Your willingness to give us early feedback is much appreciated and can help shape the future of OneNote for millions of other customers.  Please reply to this thread with your thoughts as we do read these.

Denise, OneNote Team

I know this is an Old Thread and I apologize for "tacking" on. But I agree with the other post above. I agree the other system was much more compact neater and more to the point. And like the person above it does affect the size you have to increase the zoom level to 150-200% to read what you wrote. Microsoft could have created a styles system like in Word and used the old system as one style and the new system For those that desire change. What the needed to do instead of this is, create a Page setup so that people have the option to print in either Landscape or Portrait mode. After all, what is the point in having such as this, if you can't make paper copies of what you created for your use. The idea of making this a paperless society is a Fallacy. There was an article in one of the internet new feed that despite the dream of a Paperless society more paper is in use than ever before.

    Dear Microsoft,

The tabs layout was a much better layout for laptop screens, and I haven't heard from anyone in my office who prefers the new layout. I hope this can be fixed and the update applied to my home version. I never would have purchased it yesterday and "upgraded" if I had known that the new version would remove the tabs. My office mates and I are currently looking for other solutions and will switch if this isn't fixed.

    Thanks

    MM
