I have excel 2016, and the comments have been working fine. Just recently it does not display comments when I mouse over them. The show/hide command in the review tab is greyed out. I never had this problem before, and never had to see if the comment show/hide feature was active or not.

This has been going on WAY TOO LONG. I can't hover for comments in existing workbooks nor in new ones. I have the latest install according to the update utility.

I am still encountering the same issue. It's unbelievable how such a problem in Excel cannot be solved despite numerous efforts. And I'm not talking about the ordinary users, but by the expert users or the originator.

For us to better assist you, we would like to know if you still encounter the same issue with using the Excel Comments feature? If so, can you tell us the Office version that you have?
