Word 2016 error.

   "There are too many edits in the document. This operation will be incomplete. Save your work."

Apparently this is an antiquated condition based on the answers posted in 2011.

This is 2016. There is nothing in the blank document.

I've been copying information from WEB into Word for recording and reference for years and have never had this problem until today. Tried piecemeal with no success.

Notice that Office 2016 was recently updated and if this feature was reincorporated it's not a good thing unless there is

an override somewhere in Doc Options that can be switched on to ignore this condition?

The user should be in control. If the MCP is listening please don't take it personal.

Hi everyone,

I’m told that his issue is now fixed in the latest Office 2016 updated, which we recently released.

The current version is 16.0.6965.2058. This update contains features in the May feature update described below, plus new security and non-security updates. To find out more, go to our release notes page, and under Channel, click Current.

To get the update immediately, open any Office 2016 app and choose File > Account > Update Options >Update Now.

    Follow up for info purposes.

    It appears pictures of any kind or size including video references and unique textual representations that are typical of WEB articles are no longer allowed for cutting and pasting. Text alone no problem.

    Same issue.  Just started happening today after updated Word 2016.  Attempt to paste Web article and receive error message, "There are too many edits in document. This operation will be incomplete.  Save your work."  Doing this with a new document, unsaved.  Can paste article into document, so there is nothing to save.  Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Word, no success, just same issue.  Please help ASAP.  This has degraded critical functionality in Word.

    Useful workaround - Control V works.  Thanks goodness!!  Issue is clearly related to a bug in the Word 'Paste' function.

    If you have office 2016 do not let it update auto. If you took the update try to restore to previous version. If already installed you will not be able to copy and paste pictures in word. It also crashed my outlook so they reinstalled office with all its new bugs. This happened 3 days ago and I'm seeing same issues online. Until Microsoft fixes with another update expect crashes! Installing a new version and uninstalling your old version will not help you. Just trying to help other people and not have the same headache. I have spent over 24 hours and lost 3 days of work time. Wish they would reimburse me! I found one good technician who did all he could but he can't do anymore until microsoft gets off its butt and fixes and stops releases updates with more problems.
