A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
I used Word on my MotoG Play phone to create docs, and have downloaded docs. Able to delete docs in Download, but not in Word. Says no permission.

Just figured out that I can delete files that are only saved/stored on my phone. If the file was saved to cloud, or was opened/downloaded from email, etc., the file is shared and can not be deleted. However, does not seem to be using phone storage. And, can be removed from list vs deleted, which removes from phone.
I am having the same issue. Files (Read Only) have been downloaded from emails to my device. I cannot delete them it shows the same permissions message.
I have managed to remove by resetting data through the Word application.
The error occurs due to read only permission set by default in Android device. To fix the error no permission to delete files or folder in Android device (No root), try the following solution.
