Unable to delete Word file in an Android Device

I am trying to delete a file but Word (android GalaxyNote5) is saying I do not have permission to delete

    Read my reply.

    But if you have rooted device, then you can just use your file explorer and go to the specified folder and delete them.

    What 8s a rooted device? Am not a tech person so in English please. Lol

    If you don't know what that means, then it is not rooted =)

    So your only option, as discussed before is to Clear Data for the application.

    Thankyou!,,

    after months of agro, i followed your advice and have FINALLY been able to delete all these annoying documents in word.

    the only ones left are ones that I created. All the attachments i opened from third party emails have been deleted.
