Unable to delete Word file in an Android Device

I am trying to delete a file but Word (android GalaxyNote5) is saying I do not have permission to delete

    I cannot delete files sent to me through emails. Its telling me i don't have permission to do so. They appear in "Word"

    I had the same issue and message.  The only way that I found it can be done is to go into the Word app and delete the data.  You need to go to the apps menu and select Word then navigate to the "delete data" button.  Trying to delete individual files won't work.  Be aware however, that clearing data will delete all Word files you have.

    the files were downloaded into word and I don't want them how can I delete them it keep saying I don't have permission if I need to change the settings how do I do that
