Hello everyone!
I want to make an application for keeping track of students’ progress marks each month of the year using Access 2010. Suppose I have 10 literacy centers in 10 different locations each with 35-40 students enrolled. I want to generate a monthly Access report showing the progress of each student in each of the subjects taught.
I have designed forms for entering details of each center, instructor and student saved in separate tables. All I need to do is find a way to generate month-wise students’ progress reports for each of the 10 literacy centers to be handed over to the center manager.
What would be the best way this could be done using Access 2010?

The source of this Crosstab query is another query which you asked me to create at the beginning. I checked to see if the names are repeating there. The query is working perfectly, and no names are repeated, except when there are one than one student with the same name.

Ok, then take it the next step. Is the crosstab query repeating? If not then the problem is the next query. So start first by eliminating all the joins and then adding the joins back one by one. Test the query after adding each join. That should find the join that is causing the problem. So then you have to analyze that join and see why its causing the problem.
This is all detective work. You have backtrack through each query and test until you find what specific item is causing the problem. Only when you can identify what the problem is can you figure out how to fix it.

I hope I can get this small database application working within a short time now. While I looked at both the queries and literally tore apart every aspect of the queries, I realized my mistake. The names are still repeating however, the reason for the names repeating were due to their appearing in different months. So, I think that's over for now, unless I can discover anything amiss here once again.
Now all I need to do is instead of getting the names repeating 4 times for each subject (Hindi, English, Math and Science) in rows, I need the name of the student appearing just one per row for each subject.
So, is there a way the names could be one per row?

The answer is the same as before. You found that you were getting multiple records because the query was returning multiple months. So you need to either filter for a specific month or identify the month in the record.
Well the same thing is true here. You have to go through your queries and find out why its resulting in multiple records. Until you know why, you can't fix it.
I tore apart the both the queries and tried to figure out why the unexpected result. I also tried to troubleshoot through googling and watch some videos on the issue. No luck on the web. This is a cat and mouse race. Its too complicated for me to do it alone. I am head over heels right now coming this far near the end but cannot resolve the issue. I've been drooling over this for 3 full days. I need some real help to fix this.
