Student Progress Database Application

Hello everyone!

I want to make an application for keeping track of students’ progress marks each month of the year using Access 2010. Suppose I have 10 literacy centers in 10 different locations each with 35-40 students enrolled. I want to generate a monthly Access  report showing the progress of each student in each of the subjects taught.

I have designed forms for entering details of each center, instructor and student saved in separate tables. All I need to do is find a way to generate month-wise students’ progress reports for each of the 10 literacy centers to be handed over to the center manager.

What would be the best way this could be done using Access 2010?

    Hi,

    I am not able to add a column to the crosstab query in the design view. When I add the column with the Alias: (([English]+[Hindi]+[Math]+[Science])/400)*100, it says it does not recognize the field names such as English, Hindi, Math and Science, which seems obvious to me. So what should the field names be in order to add all the 4 of them and then calculate the percentage?

    That's not what I said. I said to use the Crosstab query as the source of another query and then add the colun to the secondary query.

    This is a common technique to build query upon query until you get the results you want.

    Hi Scott,

    I have the report working now based on your guidelines. I made another query making the crosstab as source and I was able to get the calculated field working as well. Now, I need to connect this report to the the Center code and marks of the students. The report should only be generated for the Center code chosen from the drop down. Kindly help me with this. Thank you.

    Scott, I;ve already generated the report with the OpenReport method. But the problem I'm facing is the report is not being filtered to the Center Code chosen. I tried to filter the query which is using the Crosstab query as a source, but get an error message.
