Student Progress Database Application

Hi,

Scott, I don't know how to tie all this together. Though the tmpProgress table is appending records, from the intermediate append query, yet I can't figure out how to tie all this together? Do I need Query1? Where do I run this from ??? This should all work independently without me having to open Query1 all the time. If I work from the main form and select a centercode and enter a month and then click generate report button, it gives me the same error it was giving previously "To few parameters ..." Why is the generate report button not able to generate the required report?

This is absolutely incredible! When I did it, it gave me a lot of miseries. But now its WORKING! I'm happy in the end. It was a long way to get here and I learned a lot through this thanks to you. I appreciate the way you dealt with this and were with me throughout because you truly wanted me to accomplish the task at hand. People like me learn from masters like you. Thank you so much!

Now, all I've got to do is get the percentages right and create a report. I'll be doing this today evening and get back to you should I have any issues.

Frankly, I don't know what you are doing. If you RUN an Append query, nothing visible happens, you have to check the table being appended to. So here is the steps I followed and the results I got.

1. Opened main form and selected Center Code and Month

2. Copied the SQL statement from your previous post into a new query

3. Clicked View to see how the query would work and got the following result 

4. Deleted the contents of tmpProgress. Returned to Design View of Query 1 and hit Run. I then opened tmpProgress and this is what I got

As you can see this is exactly what needed to be done. tmpProgress now has the data needed to feed the crosstab query 

5. Ran crosstab from tmpprogress

Again this is the expected result. I then used this query in another (as described previously) to feed the report. Again, I tested this with the last database copy you uploaded and it WORKS exactly as I said it would.

Here's what the contents of the immediate window outputted. I fed this into a query and ran it, but it came out completely blank.

Immediate Window: INSERT INTO tmpProgress (CenterCode, StudentID, GradeScore, CourseName) SELECT CenterCode, StudentID, GradeScore, CourseName FROM qryStudentProgress_FIRST_SIMPLE_QUERY;
