Why is Excel 2016 for Mac so bad?

I'm wondering what people think - Excel 2016 for Mac seems to be so bad that it must be intentional. Am I wrong? Is Microsoft still waging a low-grade war on Mac users by making their products subtly awful on a Mac? Is it just that they have really bad developers? Is it that the developers are good but the management somehow makes them do terrible work? Is it that whoever is in charge of designing Excel for Mac has an ex who uses it for his/her job and this person has devoted his/her life to making his/her ex's life bad in confusing ways? Has a nefarious actor infiltrated Microsoft in order to make their products just bad enough that companies will continue to use them but their awfulness will create a small long-term drag on the US economy? Answers would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi

Since you are having specific issues that are not the ordinary experience, I recommend that you start a question for each particular issue here in the forum. Be sure to include the version number you're using (go to the Excel menu and choose About Excel to locate this info).

Include the steps you took prior to having the issue.

    Thanks.

My experience with these, it's a total disaster. I' can't explain all the facts or technical reasons, but, during the last 12 months, not even excel, that by the way, is the worst version, whole suite has been getting worse. It literally sticks, sometimes it gets blocked.

My costumer experience it's that I feel Microsoft wants me to be his slave... I can't do anything, just pay, pay for a bad product, with does not do what it says...

in addition, wat can i do?

    Just do the best efforts...

The question was about time to launch, not operation. SSD is faster than a mechanical drive.

Do you have an SSD startup volume? If not, Excel may launch slowly. It's more hardware related than anything else. Excel is not a small program.

I Have a 1 TB SSD and I can't see much difference in the operation of Excel  It may show up on the screen a tad faster but when it gets down to crunch time Still not that much difference. In fact, it actually speeds up 2011 better than 2016.

Besides, the desktop is dead and everyone wants only mobile apps these days, right?

If you believe that I can get you a great deal for some land with an Ocean view in Arizona.  While I don't necessarily need nor want a Ful on Desktop. I use my MacBook Pro all the time.

I have an iPhone I mostly use it for notes, weather reports, and messenger messages, and making calls. I bought an iPad Pro  I use it very little. I actually wasted money. Also unlike you (or the way you talk0 I wear glasses and even have astigmatism in one eye, so I need as large a print as I can get. Well, it turns out as the size goes down, so does the size of the print. Don't kid your self as the employees get older they will begin to need glasses and with need larger type.  I can see a few areas where notebook phone screens are useful. For instance, I have a visiting nurse come and dress my legs with UNA Boots. And the notebook is ideal for them to document their visits. But for the majority, the laptop or even the desktop still rules.
