Excel for Mac only printing in one orientation

I have no problem printing portrait and landscape within one single document in Word for Mac with my current printer driver. However, when I print from a worksheet from Excel (Mac) that has portrait and landscape sheets within it, it prints them all to portrait, unless I change it in the Print menu, but then it will print all sheets to whatever orientation I select. This is so easy to do in the Windows version of Excel. How come I can't do it in a Mac????? I already did the trick of moving the Excel plist to the desktop. That didn't work. I don't think I have a printer driver problem because I don't have a problem with Word. This is my first Mac computer. Please help!!!!

Please restrain yourself from multiple postings of the same issue. It's in bad taste, promotes the ignoring of the thread. I have merged (I think all Multiple copies) into this one thread the deleted the multiple attempts. If I have missed any, my apologies.

First, you posted your question on a weekend. Which means that most people are occupied with other matters. Also, as you know many of the volunteers don't live in the Americas. So many are asleep that could answer the question.

I've tried a test where I changed orientation, of one sheet.  And you are correct regardless of what can be set  from the ribbon you can only use either Portrait or Landscape, The mac version can't mix.

So to do what you need is create two files, one that has the landscape orientation, and one with the Portrait orientation.the collate by hand. 

Please refrain from Multiple posts, and wait for an answer.

I'm afraid I don't have a solution but FWIW I have no similar problem here regardless of whether my Epson or my HP is the selected printer. Nor have I seen any similar complaints :-)

If the sheet is set to Landscape (using either the button on the Page Layout tab or through the File> Page Setup dialog) it appears as Landscape in the Print window.

Likewise, even if the sheet is set for Portrait & I choose Landscape in the Print dialog the switch is passed back to the file.

Method1: Try changing the orientation:

Open word -> click on Page Layout  tab-> Orientation-> select  Landscape and try printing .

Method2: Try printing the document using other printer ( e.g. OneNote, Microsoft xps) for this :

Click on office button-> print-> from the drop down select  the One note or Microsoft xps .

    Thanks for getting back to us on this. I, too, have tried without success to get a Windows 7 laptop to see a printer physically connected to my XP desktop (via wireless network); perhaps your experience will help the next time I wrestle with it.

    The printer manufacturer wasn't much help because the printer is attached to an XP computer and I am having the problem on the Windows7 (and Vista before that) computer that is networked to the XP computer.  He had me dig the printer out of the the XP computer cabinet and attach it directly to the Windows7 computer (no easy feat mind you!!!). 

    I figured it would print correctly that way because I could install and "setup" the printer on the W7 computer even though it was not attached to the computer...it put a "fake" printer icon on the W7 computer that I could choose and print preview from (but of course not print to as there was no such real printer attached).  But the print preview showed it in landscape (something the actual printer icon would not do). 

    So since it seemed to be a networking probem he could not help me. He showed I can print to it in landscape when it is physically attached to the computer so that is where he stops. 

    I tried deleting everything and started all over with the steps another person suggested but setup would not take my share name. 

    I went to the XP computer and changed the share name (made it shorter) and then tried again.  VOILA!!! I can now print to the networked printer in landscape. 

    I have spent MANY hours (and lost a lot of sleep because I worked almost all night several nights in a row on this problem - the only time I can work uninterrupted at my house) to solve this.

    WHY CAN'T MICROSOFT MAKE NETWORKING SIMPLER? The add printer wizard does not setup a networked printer correctly.  One has to manually add it as a local printer (not a networked printer) and manually type in a path for the computer and printer that is networked to the problem computer....one character off or ?too long of a name makes the whole thing not work.

    but I am now printing correctly after much wasted time!
