Help... I'm running desktop version of Onenote (from 365 subscription) on Windows 10 computer in a small office. I recently updated to Onenote 2016, and have hit a major snag/compatibility issue.
My team (3 others) and I rely heavily on Onenote for collaborative projects and access a notebook (Onenote 2010-2016 file format) stored on a central local server. They are all using Onenote 2010 desktop version on Windows 7 machines. After updating to Onenote 2016 desktop version, every time I edit a page, it now (on their machines) says the page is corrupted, stops syncing the page on their machines, and prompts them to repair the section. After repairing, duplicate sections are made, and if I edit them, it corrupts it again, starting a vicious cycle. Although they have issues and get the corruption prompt, my Onenote (2016) doesn't report any problem and I can make changes and operate normally. Needless to say this has caused some major hair-pulling. Any ideas?

I have the exact issue described in this thread. I tried to install 3114410 but when I do I get this message:
I have Office 10 32bit version installed.

Really? is that supposed to be an ANSWER to a problem???
I understand those limitations (been there, done that ...). But you (or your manager(s) ) could point out the problem (wasted time, time is money, and lost data recreating data messed up during these translations) and these scripts to your IT department. They could use the scripts to push the fix out to targeted users (or even all users).
If you can get these common versions to everyone, then "all" you have to do is get all of the users to use the "right" version of OneNote for the data you are sharing around ... (good luck with that).
Unfortunately, this is a large organization with very strict security regulations. Users cannot download any applications to their machines.
Yes, playing with multiple versions of applications can cause errors to creep in due to all of the format conversion that is going on.
As a temporary work around you could download a copy of OneNote to everyone so that they are all using the same version for this shared information. Then, when everyone is on 2016 you could migrate the data to 2016.
