Several community discussions on this topic, but I can't find a good answer! Microsoft, does Word 365 support drag and drop? If so, how do I fix my system?

That is the best info I heard so far. My concern is if my add-in (Workshare, RMS, and a few others) will still work?
I"m not sure, as I don'rt use add-ins, but you may need to reinstall those as well, most likely, so have any license information available, just in case you need to re-input their licenses, too.
And no, I don't need to be in safe mode after the reinstall of Office, everything is working normally now. Something probably got corrupted somewhere and the uninstall/reinstalled fixed it.
Once is happens it does not matter whether it is in safe mode or not.
Does that mean that you have seen the problem with drag & drop for a Word session running in Safe mode? Or does it mean that the problem is intermittent?
Note that if you are running 64 bit Office, some add-ins may very well cause trouble if they were created for 32 bit Office. You can easily uninstall your version of Office and try the 32 bit version instead.
32 bit Office works just fine, even if you are running 64 bit Windows and Microsoft actually recommends 32 bit for most users.
What i meant was once it happens we close word and try running word in safe mode.
Also this is not just Word. I see this in Outlook with attachment when trying to drag and drop into another email or desktop.
There is something with Office 365. It is the only difference between my computers in my environment.
It happened to me in Outlook and Word, didn't try PowerPoint or Excel, and I tried Word in safe mode, nothing worked till I uninstalled and reinstalled all of Office 365. Now everything is working ok, so honestly, I would just advise uninstall/reinstall.
