Drag and Drop not working Office 365 - Word

Several community discussions on this topic, but I can't find a good answer!  Microsoft, does Word 365 support drag and drop?  If so, how do I fix my system?

    Drag and drop does not work when a modal window such as the cross reference window is open. Closing the modal window resolves the issue.

    If drag and drop does not work, and there is no modal window open, then the issue is different than the one I experienced.

    It happens to me in Word and Outlook for sure, also in Excel, I think. 

    The solution for me has been simply to hit ESC and it begins to work again.

    I am having the same problem with multiple people in my pilot test group. A majority of firm is on Office 2010 Pro Plus and they are not having any issues.  It is only random users in my Office 365 Pilot Test Group.   I did notice that it do not just happening in Word, but I have seen it where I try to drag a file in Windows Explorer and I am not able to.

    My systems are all Windows 7 x 64 OS.  I do not have any Windows 10 in my environment.

    If a modeless dialog box, such as the Find and Replace dialog, is open, drag & drop is not supported. 

    In your case, it seems that the option wasn't correctly Written to the registry key, though.
