Drag and Drop not working Office 365 - Word

Several community discussions on this topic, but I can't find a good answer!  Microsoft, does Word 365 support drag and drop?  If so, how do I fix my system?

    Once is happens it does not matter whether it is in safe mode or not.

    I had an issue with Outlook messages. I could not drag and drop an email to a folder in Outlook 2016 (Office 365). Then I noticed that I could no longer highlight some text and then drag and drop that text in Word to cut and paste it, like I always could.

    I tried safe mode and the Esc key trick and neither worked.

    After much searching online, I gave up and uninstalled Office and re-installed it (64bit version) and now finally drag and drop works in Outlook and Word as it should. I recommend doing that: uninstall and reinstall. Because my profile was already in the Win10 registry, everything hooked back in perfectly and I didn't miss a beat once I logged into my MS account to verify the license. Super weird. Hope this helps.

    See if drag & drop works if you start Word in Safe mode (as part of troubleshooting).

    You can do that by holding the Ctrl key as you start Word and click yes when asked about Safe mode.

    If I select a complete paragraph or section of words in a document I am not able to left click + hold + drag to another location in the document.

    If no dialog box is open, what you are seeing is different from the previous issues discussed in this thread. 

    Could you expand on what you are doing when drag & drop fails?

    Also, are you running any third-party software?
