Drag and Drop not working Office 365 - Word

Several community discussions on this topic, but I can't find a good answer!  Microsoft, does Word 365 support drag and drop?  If so, how do I fix my system?

    Unless you have a very good reason to be running 64-bit Office (this is usually an Excel-based requirement), Microsoft recommends installing 32-bit instead (even on 64-bit Windows).

    But if you try starting in Safe mode first, then what do you observe? Exit Word if it is currently running. Hold the Ctrl key as you restart Word and click yes when prompted to start in Safe mode. See if you can drag & drap text the way you should be able to.

    You may want to display nonprinting marks, for example by clicking the ¶ icon on the Home tab. Note that you can't drag text into a completely blank area of the document; that has never been possible.

    Once is happens it does not matter whether it is in safe mode or not.

    Does that mean that you have seen the problem with drag & drop for a Word session running in Safe mode? Or does it mean that the problem is intermittent?

    Note that if you are running 64 bit Office, some add-ins may very well cause trouble if they were created for 32 bit Office. You can easily uninstall your version of Office and try the 32 bit version instead.

    32 bit Office works just fine, even if you are running 64 bit Windows and Microsoft actually recommends 32 bit for most users.

    Hi Parth,

    it is Word 2016 MSO 16.0.6528.1017

    Also, I tried the drag and drop setting first.  It's all good.

    Drag and drop should work the same in the most recent versions of Word as it used to in older versions. If you start Word in Safe mode, does drag and drop work normally?

    Here's how to do it: Exit Word if it is currently running. Hold the Ctrl key as you restart Word; when asked about Safe mode, click yes. (Note that running in Safe mode is for troubleshooting purposes only.)
