I notice a rather annoying problem with Excel 2016 - when scrolling using either a trackpad or mousewheel, the scrolling is not at all smooth. Instead, the scrolling is very jumpy. By jumpy, I don't mean that the scroll will go from point A to point B in a snap rather than a smooth motion. Rather, when initiating a scroll, the spreadsheet will sort of vibrate and bounce rapidly back and forth before the scrolling commence. The problem is particularly obvious when scrolling horizontally, and it sometimes won't scroll at all, no matter how many times I try. In such instances, the only way to move around the spreadsheet is either the arrow key or by clicking on the scroll bar. Sometimes initiating a scroll would cause a beachball to appear for a sec or two, and I'm on a Quad core 2012 Retina Macbook Pro. This is a persistent problem and has not be fixed in the last Excel update. This is also not a machine dependent problem, because I experience the same scrolling problem on my 13" Retina Macbook Pro as well. Anyone else having this issue?

... So I'm strongly leaning towards the theory that literally nobody on the Excel for Mac team actually uses the product. They compile it, and then they just have a vast suite of automated tests, so they know it won't crash. But no human at Microsoft has ever actually used it.

I have been using Mac for 6 years now and like the version 2011, the new 2016 suite is, for sure, crashing. It is curious as only Microsoft-designed-for-macs softwares crash.

The problem has been acceptably solved for me, for both trackpad and Logitech mouse after installing 15.16.
The scrolling is smoother and not that jumpy (just little jumpy sometimes, but nothing noticeable).
I'm using Yosemite and a MacBook Pro mid 2010.
I hope you all get this solved soon.
15.16 is worse for me. I'm using a MS mouse, 2015 Macbook Pro, OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.
Scrolling with the MS mouse's mousewheel is crappy: the scrolling often skips and jumps, and the scroll bar doesn't update as you move (which is a bit weird).
Scrolling with the cursor keys is crappy: as you hold the key, the screen doesn't scroll (though the scroll bar does at least update...), so you can't tell where you are.
Scrolling with the PgUp/PgDn keys is crappy: as you hold the key, the screen doesn't scroll (though the scroll bar does at least update...), so you can't tell where you are. When you let go of the key... there's no scrolling. Sometimes when you move the cursor with the arrow keys, the document scrolls so the cursor is visible; other times, the cursor stays offscreen. Which is rather unhelpful.
Scrolling with the Macbook Pro trackpad is fine: well, one out of four ain't... oh, wait a minute! One out of four is TERRIBLE.
I'm having difficulty understanding what the problem is here. The scrolling used to work fine, and now it sucks, and it's really obvious that it sucks... and yet here we are, several versions later, and it still sucks. Same here! I just purchased my iMac PC & downloaded Microsoft Office 365. Copied a worksheet that I'd worked with in "Excel 2013" but can't make any progress because the scrolling keeps jumping & just come back to the last entry. I'M VERY FRUSTRATED!!!
How is this still an issue. I reported this with every update all the way back in March. I just bought the final release version, and it's still jerky as heck when you scroll. Did they even do anything with the reported issues?
