Can't use Office when no internet is available

I have a student license (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***), and everytime I want to use anything like Word, it asks me to '...Activate Office if you've already bought it'. This is really frustrating since there are many areas in my university that dont have internet. How can I solve this?

Just to add my voice -- encountering the same problem on Office 365 for Business. I'm already working with Microsoft Support on a different thread.

    Hi Fridaynet,

Based on your information, we noticed you are from consumer subscriptions (e.g. Office 365 Home, Personal, and University). For this scenario, we suggest you continue to work on the issue with the engineers in the forum below:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-office_install/0x8004fc12-we-are-sorry-something-went-wrong-and/066f8a5d-05d9-4920-b9ca-f0d2412b468a

If you are using Office 365 Business subscriptions (e.g. Office 365 Enterprise, Business, etc.), we will assist you further here and would like you to provide us with the tenant information including the global admin’s contact email address we send to you in the private messages.

Your cooperation and patience are appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Iris

Same issue for me with Office 365 for Business on a mac. As soon as I work offline I am in read-only mode with Word, PPT and XL (have not tried the other apps).
