Can't use Office when no internet is available

I have a student license (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***), and everytime I want to use anything like Word, it asks me to '...Activate Office if you've already bought it'. This is really frustrating since there are many areas in my university that dont have internet. How can I solve this?

    i was experiencing the same problem with my office 365 account - with work, excel & powerpoint.  now it's outlook too - AND - i can't even sign in online (versus just having the problem while offline).  So currently, I'm completely locked out of all of office 365 products.  What should I do ?

    Eric is right, this is ridiculous. 99% of the time I need to edit documents when I don't have an internet connection. I am a student and that means studying and writing anywhere I can. This is utterly infuriating that I paid for a product that I can't ever use. When will this problem be fixed?
