Cannot open downloaded Word documents after Windows 10

Hello,

I cannot open downloaded Word documents (powerpoint included) that I download onto my computer from email or my online class. This happened after I downloaded Windows 10. My spyware is turned off and it does not change anything. Any tips if there is something else turned on I can't figure out to open them? I tried going through word and in a "repair" view but it still wouldn't open.

    I would suggest that you save the attachments to the local drive and then use the File Explorer and locate the document and right click on it with the mouse and then, click on Properties and in the Properties dialog, either click on Unblock or check the Unblock box and then click on OK.  Then in Word, use File>Open and select the file to open it.

    I also have that problem as well so I am assuming that it is the same issue. Microsoft should provide a fix for what it has done as a result of downloading Windows ten. I open most of my documents now by opening my old windows office program and then going to file and clicking open. The Documents file opens and then I select the file that I want opened. It also works that way for Excel. Stan
