Cannot open downloaded Word documents after Windows 10

Hello,

I cannot open downloaded Word documents (powerpoint included) that I download onto my computer from email or my online class. This happened after I downloaded Windows 10. My spyware is turned off and it does not change anything. Any tips if there is something else turned on I can't figure out to open them? I tried going through word and in a "repair" view but it still wouldn't open.

    What happens when you try to open a document?

    Are you trying to open it by using File>Open in Word (after starting the application)?

    If you send me a copy of one of the documents, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.

    I recently purchased and downloaded Office 365 and I can't open any new downloaded information.  I still can open my old ones prior to the purchase.  I'm not computer savvy so I'm not sure how to fix it.  Please help.

    Hi Everyone,

    I am facing a strange problem on MS Word 2007 with window 10, when i open a new word then it easily open and work but when i open a written or weighted word document then its not showing any thing on word window also all tabs are hide, i apply everything after browsing on internet but not resolved but after a relax i try one more method for resolving the issue and its work fine for me and now i am very happy, friends please use this method for resolve the issue, surely it will help. I am writing some steps below with window 10, please drop me a happy message on m********@****.com if its work and solve your problem.

    1.  Press window button with X

    2.  Go to update & Security

    3.  Click on Troubleshoot

    4.  Click Program Compatibility Troubleshooter & Run the troubleshooter

    5.  Select the Microsoft Word 2007 from list

    6.  Try recommended settings and click test the programs if here problem resolved here then stop other wise go on 7.

    7. Click on Next & choose other option like No, Try again using different settings

    8. Tick the program open but does not display correctly then Next and test the program
