Dear All,

I need help from you.

I cannot use Styles in Word 2016 properly, the problem is:

I want to use "Body Text", "Heading", "List Bullet", "List Number". When I click on "Body Text" but it jump to "TOC", it is not exactly "Body Text".

When I click on "Heading 1" it jump to "Heading 2" and next click jump to "Heading 3" and so on.

In previous version I always use these Styles but not faced these Problem.

After I change to this version I facing with this problem.

I use Microsoft Office Home and Business 2016.

Hi everyone!

The Office 2016 December update introduced an issue where the wrong style would get applied if you tried to select a style in the Styles pane.

That issue has been fixed in update 6366.2056, which is rolling out now to Office 365 consumer/small business subscribers. If you don't see the update yet, follow these steps:

  1. Open any Office application and choose File > Account. (If you're using Outlook, choose File > Office Account.)
  2. Under Product Information, choose Update Options > Update Now.

If you're still experiencing issues in 6366.2056, please let us know (best to start a new thread).

Thanks for your patience.

That not the case, Rohn007. I reported the problems I endured from lost files to berserked styles have been solved about four days ago. I followed the steps shown in the above screenshots. If you haven't followed those steps yet, may I suggest you do so as soon as possible? Thanks.

I have computers running 32 bit versions of Office 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 and one running a 64 bit version of 2016 and I do not sit and use 2016 extensively enough to have come across the problem.

In spite of you having ignored my request for a template and a document that might have allowed both me and the Product Team to experience the problem, I have just now received advice from the Product Team that they have now been able to reproduce the problem and are working on a fix that they hope to have out very soon.

Respectfully, you might consider being a bit more cooperative rather than making threats.

Doug, I didn't threaten you, don't get personal with me. The facts are the facts, MS admittedly acknowledges they have a BUG in Word 2016...........PERIOD!.......I'm a paying Office 365 customer and I want what I purchased to work like new.  When I say it's a Product Warranty problem, that is a fact .....When I say I want the application I bought to work like new ....that's a fact.

This has been a problem since Dec 10, 2015 ........It has cost thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands of users time .....which is money.....Nuff Said !
