Styles in word 2016 not working properly

Dear All,

I need help from you.

I cannot use Styles in Word 2016 properly, the problem is:

I want to use "Body Text", "Heading", "List Bullet", "List Number". When I click on "Body Text" but it jump to "TOC", it is not exactly "Body Text".

When I click on "Heading 1" it jump to "Heading 2" and next click jump to "Heading 3" and so on.

In previous version I always use these Styles but not faced these Problem.

After I change to this version I facing with this problem.

I use Microsoft Office Home and Business 2016.

Hi everyone!

The Office 2016 December update introduced an issue where the wrong style would get applied if you tried to select a style in the Styles pane.

That issue has been fixed in update 6366.2056, which is rolling out now to Office 365 consumer/small business subscribers. If you don't see the update yet, follow these steps:

  1. Open any Office application and choose File > Account. (If you're using Outlook, choose File > Office Account.)
  2. Under Product Information, choose Update Options > Update Now.

    jegs, hold down Ctrl>Shift>S ........Apply Styles pane opens ....this works too as long as the Styles pane is floating and NOT docked.

    Thanks for the key combo. I had not looked that up. It seems to work for me even when the Styles pane is docked.

    With the Apply Styles dialog open (it floats by default, and there is no benefit to having it docked), you can close the Styles pane entirely. Be sure to select the option to display All Styles in the Styles pane if you want (all) style names to AutoComplete in the Apply Styles dialog.

    Suzanne,

    Yes there is a benefit to having Styles Pane docked, which is different than "Apply Styles" pane ...........it was much faster to use the pane when docked, with the pane docked you can create a New Style whereas you can't when "Apply Styles" is floating.

    Also, there is a saving issue with this bug as well........Some documents at random when you edit them or copy into an existing document, when you open the doc to edit it opens as "Read-Only", which pops a window when you go to save it .......requiring renaming the doc and saving. MS is aware of this bug as well.

    This all happened with the major Windows 10 update that was pushed in early December around the 10th.

    This has been a problem for almost a Month, with the best programmers in the world Microsoft should have this fixed and push out a new update to fix these issues. These issues are hindering our productivity ........costing more to our clients in hours of extra work ............Maybe since we paid for a working Word 2016 we should BILL our lost hours to Microsoft? .....How would you like to be our client asking "Why is it now taking so much longer to format and edit our documents?"
