Dear All,

I need help from you.

I cannot use Styles in Word 2016 properly, the problem is:

I want to use "Body Text", "Heading", "List Bullet", "List Number". When I click on "Body Text" but it jump to "TOC", it is not exactly "Body Text".

When I click on "Heading 1" it jump to "Heading 2" and next click jump to "Heading 3" and so on.

In previous version I always use these Styles but not faced these Problem.

After I change to this version I facing with this problem.

I use Microsoft Office Home and Business 2016.

Hi everyone!

The Office 2016 December update introduced an issue where the wrong style would get applied if you tried to select a style in the Styles pane.

That issue has been fixed in update 6366.2056, which is rolling out now to Office 365 consumer/small business subscribers. If you don't see the update yet, follow these steps:

  1. Open any Office application and choose File > Account. (If you're using Outlook, choose File > Office Account.)
  2. Under Product Information, choose Update Options > Update Now.

If you're still experiencing issues in 6366.2056, please let us know (best to start a new thread).

Thanks for your patience.

No I don't how to get the previous version for Office 365 from my account.  The previous version number is 16.0.4266.1003 and can be found here - http://microsoft_office.en.downloadastro.com/

The corrupted version number is 16.0.6366.2036

It says that it is a free trial and I am assuming that it will download the previous version NOT the recent corrupted version. I have been too busy to try.  Can you let me know if the version works?

    Thank you,

    MM

Madaonna, you say you are looking for Sept 2015 release of Word.  Do you know how to download specific date/versions of Office 2016/365 installations?  I have not seen specific instructions to do that yet.  Or does everyone have to download every monthly update "just in case" you need to back out to a specific version?

Hi Mark - you need to expand the style pane so that the scroll bar down the right hand side disappears. It is a real problem for complex documents.  My undocked pane is at least 4 columns.  Fortunately I have multiple monitors which helps. I load the pane onto one monitor and work from another.  The problem here is that the pane disappears and becomes transparent frequently forcing me to stop work to get it to re-materialize. I can't keep going this way so I will look for the Sept 2015 release of Word if MSFT doesn't release a patch soon.

    With warmest regards,

    MM

    Actually, the above suggestion:

"Assuming that the Stylespane isn't docked, try increasing the size of the Stylespane so you see more styles"

doesn't work completely. The problem comes and goes.
