Styles in word 2016 not working properly

Dear All,

I need help from you.

I cannot use Styles in Word 2016 properly, the problem is:

I want to use "Body Text", "Heading", "List Bullet", "List Number". When I click on "Body Text" but it jump to "TOC", it is not exactly "Body Text".

When I click on "Heading 1" it jump to "Heading 2" and next click jump to "Heading 3" and so on.

In previous version I always use these Styles but not faced these Problem.

After I change to this version I facing with this problem.

I use Microsoft Office Home and Business 2016.

Hi everyone!

The Office 2016 December update introduced an issue where the wrong style would get applied if you tried to select a style in the Styles pane.

That issue has been fixed in update 6366.2056, which is rolling out now to Office 365 consumer/small business subscribers. If you don't see the update yet, follow these steps:

Open any Office application and choose File > Account. (If you're using Outlook, choose File > Office Account.)
Under Product Information, choose Update Options > Update Now.

If you're still experiencing issues in 6366.2056, please let us know (best to start a new thread).

Initially, I upgraded from 2013 to 2016, and the problems started.

I upgraded again, and still had problems.

After those two procedures, the only thing I did was to follow the two step I mentioned in my last post above. I will now repeat them here for convenience:
1. Open any Office application and choose File > Account. (If you're using Outlook, choose File > Office Account.)
2. Under Product Information, choose Update Options > Update Now.
If you're still experiencing issues in 6366.2056, please let us know (best to start a new thread)."

Based on the last line, the two steps above represent 6366.2056. When we "Update Now", we updated 6366.2065. Thanks.

Hello Folks,

I waited for a few days before I said anything. Before, I said everything was fine, but then I had more styles issues.

I did it gingerly, but it worked, and had been working good for the past three days. I only encountered one issue, not related to styles: mashed up text. Other than that, it's working as it should.

Yes, it can be frustrating, but let's hope that all of us, not some, get the solution we need soon. Thanks again everyone.

Come on! ....if he has Word 2016 .....he would have to experience the Bug ...."Cured most" .....it didn't totally solve the wonky Styles BUG .....This Bug happened when the Dec 10, 2015 Windows major update was pushed out ......

This has been a major issue for us that have to make part of our living formatting large Word documents .....we shouldn't have to be told ...go back to Office 2013 .....to deal with the problem .....I paid for Office 365/Word 2016 ....I want it to work correctly ......How many Office 365/Word 2016 applications has MS sold? Hundreds of Thousands? at an average of $99.00.....= Millions of dollars........If you had a million dollar Car recall I bet you'd get a quick action .....

Believe me, money lost on bad products gets attention with most companies ....MS better fix this before it gets out to the National Tech Press .......;-(
