Dear All,

I need help from you.

I cannot use Styles in Word 2016 properly, the problem is:

I want to use "Body Text", "Heading", "List Bullet", "List Number". When I click on "Body Text" but it jump to "TOC", it is not exactly "Body Text".

When I click on "Heading 1" it jump to "Heading 2" and next click jump to "Heading 3" and so on.

In previous version I always use these Styles but not faced these Problem.

After I change to this version I facing with this problem.

I use Microsoft Office Home and Business 2016.

Hi everyone!

The Office 2016 December update introduced an issue where the wrong style would get applied if you tried to select a style in the Styles pane.

That issue has been fixed in update 6366.2056, which is rolling out now to Office 365 consumer/small business subscribers. If you don't see the update yet, follow these steps:

  1. Open any Office application and choose File > Account. (If you're using Outlook, choose File > Office Account.)
  2. Under Product Information, choose Update Options > Update Now.

If you're still experiencing issues in 6366.2056, please let us know (best to start a new thread).

Thanks for your patience.

Doug it's not the Word document that's a problem, it's Word 2016 itself.......There is a Style bug that affects all documents, templates, .doc, .docx, .dot, etc. etc.

MS admitted it has a bug, pushed an update.....not fixed, .....back to the drawing board .....Like I stated, please fix or give us a refund or compensatory allocation for all the time we have lost putzing around with this problem.

Microsoft.....this is a warranty issue ....Office 365, Word 2016 is "Admittedly" a lemon .....to us users it's like trying to drive a car 80mph, but running one of those space-saver donuts on one of the wheels .....Not Good!

As requested previously, to assist the Product Team in overcoming this issue, can you send me a document that exhibits the problem and the template from which that document was created.

    With warmest regards,

Hi One and all, I don't know if the work around will help me. You have to tell me. Last night when I went to apply styles, the styles' names disappeared.  I just opened the file, and to my amazement I saw a blank page, but the number of words in the file appeared in the bottom left side. How do I get to see the text? The attached image shows what I saw.![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=023d1ba5-fc5f-4363-b824-74f90df0f5e1)
